Aussie musicians hoping to pack bags and head to Austin for SXSW next year are encouraged to get their applications to showcase in early now online submissions are now open!
The festival is taking place from March 10th – March 19th next year and if you get in early, you’ll only need to pay the discounted rate of USD$35. The deadline runs until September 9th, whereby the application fee jacks up to USD$55 until the final application deadline of October 21st.
The opportunity to attend and perform at SXSW is an invaluable one and offers the chances for emerging and establishing artists to form connections with industry members from all over the world, land lucrative touring opportunities and spread their music literally, thousands of new ears.
Showcasing artists this year included the likes of Jake Bugg, Sunflower Bean, Blood Orange, Troye Sivan, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Fantastic Negrito and AlunaGeorge, while Australian artists to have made the trip included Methyl Ethel, Julia Jacklin, Hockey Dad and Gold Class.
