“You wouldn’t think may people go out on a Wednesday night but it was pretty hectic, it was good”, says JOY. on her performance at BIGSOUND. Having her latest EP Ode recently out, the festival was the perfect chance to play it live; “it’s a lot better playing to a crowd that has heard the stuff before I think. It’s really good, before you’d just been playing shows with songs no one knew or ever heard of so it was a little weird, its cool having the EP out now”.
The last 12 months has seen JOY. explode into a frenzy of musical endeavours, with numerous singles as well as the EP being released. Her plans for the remainder of 2015 see her travelling to the States for writing sessions and producing music for fellow artists. Her obvious talent and passion for producing will see her focusing more heavily on mixing and producing rather than booking more shows, she says, “I’ll probably work toward another EP kinda want to do more production for other people as well”.
