We caught up with Matt, Sophie, Nick and Ethan from Tired Lion at BIGSOUND in Brisbane. The four piece have been busy with a hectic touring schedule, but that is not stopping progress for a full length album. Click through to read more!
Green Buzzard, Grenadiers and Methyl Ethel, are just a few bands that Tired Lion checked out at BIGSOUND. After a hectic touring, the festival has given them a break to sit back and enjoy the work of their fellow artists. The past year has seen an EP release, a whole lot of touring (including Singapore), performing as supports, and playing the festival of their dreams,”Splendour was a huge one for all of us” says Sophie.
Since a recent visit to the Triple J studio for a Like A Version session, the bands cover of Violent Soho’s Saramona Said has gained them even more recognition. In discussing other great,sometimes overdone covers, they agree Khe San and Back in Black takes the crown.
With a new album currently in early stages of production, sample demos are already making their way. The live track demos for three songs so far and writing sessions indicate an awesome album in the works. To conclude on their journey as a band, Sophie states “I’m just so stoked at go far we’ve come together”.
