the AU review sat down with Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes after they played us one of their new songs in SXSW. The new song comes ahead of their next album, released August 18th, which Frog Eyes played a lot of while at SXSW. Of the anticipated response to the new songs, Mercer says “it doesn’t really matter, they are what they are. It’s too late if they don’t go down well.”
For an idea of what to expect from Frog Eyes on this upcoming record, Mercer says “I think the words for this last batch of 10 songs are more important. I wrote the words with the melodies and that’s the first time I’ve ever done that.”
