There are some fantastic shows kicking off around the country this weekend, from The Darkness marking their Australian return in Adelaide on Friday, to Mumford & Sons doing their thing in Brisbane. On a local front, one of our faves The Paper Kites set up for a SOLD OUT show in Sydney, while Australian legends (and our Artist of The Month for November) You Am I play The Gov in Adelaide.

The Paper Kites – SYDNEY
The Paper Kites’ Australian tour in support of twelvefour has seen the band accumulate more and more positive reviews in the last month or so. Their crowds have continued to grow in size and enthusiasm, while the album itself is definitely proving itself to be one of the best local releases of 2015.

The Darkness – ADELAIDE
The Darkness return to Australia this weekend for the first time since having to cancel their 2013 tour. With a new album Last of Our Kind primed and ready to show off in their own unique style, the British act will be kicking things off at HQ in Adelaide. Always a huge amount of fun, be prepared to lose yourself in glitter, glam rock goodness.

You Am I – ADELAIDE
You Am I will be on stage at The Gov in Adelaide for an unmissable show on Friday. Such an important part of the fabric of Australian rock and roll, the band is definitely back in force with a new album, their always entertaining live show and of course, the magnetic presence of Mr Tim Rogers.

Chet Faker – SYDNEY
Chet Faker plays two shows in Sydney this weekend, the first landing him at the Sydney Opera House’s forecourt on Friday night. Returning home to Australia for his biggest shows yet, the final for the Built on Glass tour cycle, fans are no doubt going to be cramming in to see the Melbourne performer dole out some sexy beats and dulcet tones.

Mumford & Sons – BRISBANE
Bringing the new album Wilder Mind to Australian fans, Mumford & Sons are also setting up for some of their biggest Australian shows to date. They play The Riverstage in Brisbane this weekend, and have brought Future Islands and The Vaccines along for the tour, tagging in and out of support duties at all shows on the tour. Definitely not one to be missing out on.

Northlane – MELBOURNE
Norhtlane have a busy weekend coming up, with three shows across two venues going down in Melbourne alone! We’ll be heading along to see the band play their all ages show at Arrow on Swanston this Saturday night – sure to be a cracker night of great tunes!

Philadelphia Grand Jury – PERTH
The Philly Jays head west this weekend, playing at the Amplifier Bar in Perth. The Sydney trio have so far taken the Summer of Doom party to venues right down the east coast so it’s only right Berkfinger, MC Bad Genius and Dan W Sweat pile in and bring it to the folk in Perth. A set full of their ‘classics’ as well as fun new material too, the Philly Jays are definitely back on their A-game.

Naughty By Nature – ADELAIDE
Hip hop hoo-frickin-ray, that’s all. The party is coming to The Gov and we couldn’t think of a more entertaining way to be spending a Sunday night in Adelaide. Naughty By Nature hit the Hindmarsh venue to wrap up a weekend with all the hits fans are no doubt going to be turning up enthusiastically for.

The Vaccines – BRISBANE
The Vaccines, in town for the Mumford & Sons tour, will be playing their only Australian headline show at The Triffid this weekend. The venue, celebrating its first year in operation, add The Vaccines to an impressive roster of live performers who have taken to its stage; supported by The Jensens and The Belligerents too, this one is going to be a surefire highlight of the weekend.
