The Cairos & Jinja Safari both call time on respective careers today via social media

Well, talk about a double-whammy for fans of both The Cairos and Jinja Safari, with both Aussie bands announcing the end of their respective time together online. From the statements released, the reason for both splits have come down to a natural reaching of crossroads, something understandable when you’ve got groups of creatives who will naturally all have different interests.

For The Cairos, they still have three tour dates left where fans can see them performing material for the last time, all coming up this month. Their latest single, “Love Don’t Feel Right”, was released to favourable response in late 2015 and the love for the band has only continued to remain. Tickets for the final Cairos shows are on sale now:

January 21st | Shebeen, Melbourne | Shebeen
January 22nd | Brighton Up Bar, Sydney | Brighton Up Bar
January 23rd | The Foundry, Brisbane | The Foundry

From the band’s Facebook, The Cairos thank all their fans and people involved with bringing them to this point:

“We’ve achieved more than we could have imagined and we’re extremely grateful to those who have been part of the journey. We couldn’t have come this far without you.”

JinjaSafari

Jinja Safari, whose members have been following their own individual endeavours for some time now (Pepa’s solo music, Marcus’ recent organic apparel line etc), released their final single in “Kilimanjaro” back in November and released a Facebook statement thanking their fans and loved ones for their support:

“We were extremely lucky to be backed by triple j in our early days as a band and as a result, have forged amazing careers as professional musicians that we are all extremely proud of. …It has been an extremely difficult decision to make but feel that ultimately, it’s the best thing for all members of the group. Everything we have achieved since our formation has been a result of your unwavering support, so again, thank you!”

Thanks for the music, lads.
