The Hoodoo Emporium (Mojo Juju, Taryn van Kan & co.) welcome you, to yet another time and another place. After entirely SOLD OUT seasons in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide Cabaret Festival, they have given their Jitterbug Club a little revamp.
Last time they surfaced, they journeyed deep into 1930’s Harlem, a world full of hot jazz & showgirl follies. This time around they’re living a different indulgence, taking place on a cruise ship circa 1959, sailing the uncharted waters of exotic islands that lie somewhere between the South Pacific and the Orient, but only ever exist in the realm of cocktail lounges and pure fantasy. Here you will find tiki bars and Go Go Girls, linen suits and lounge music.
FEATURING the Jitterbeetles – Frankie Valentine, Papillion, Lux St Sin, Bonnie Neville & Pip Tease as our in house chorus line.
Plus very special guests Azzy Trew, Kira Puru & Zackari Watt in a live tribute to the music of Yma Sumac, Les Baxter, Martin Denny & Arthur Lyman.
