Since 2011, Brisbane-born The Jungle Giants have been rocking our socks with their indie-rock, electropop tunes. Most recently, they’ve given us a ‘little bit of love’ with their latest single, “Trippin Up”, a lead up to their upcoming fifth studio record. It’s everything you could want from The Jungle Giants: playful, groovy, and electronic. They’ve captured the essence of falling in love, from the upbeat beat to lyrics like “I just wanna be with you; Baby, make my dreams come true”. To make it even more fun, the track’s official video shows lead singer Sam Hales dancing to his heart’s content.
If the rest of the album will be anything like “Trippin Up” or their previous #1 ARIA-charting fourth album “Love Signs”, we’ll have a lot to look forward to.
Best of all, we’ll have the opportunity to see them play it live, with the start of June seeing the iconic band tour Australia and New Zealand. With their history of delivering rocking, high-energy live performances, no doubt it’ll be a show to remember. Melbourne-based electronic dance music artist AROHA will open all 12 shows, alongside Sydney four-piece The Lazy Eyes, who will join for the Australian shows.
Catch them in Wollongong on Thursday 1 June; Canberra on Friday 2 June; Sydney on Saturday 3 June; Brisbane on Friday 9 June 9; Gold Coast on Saturday 10 June; Sunshine Coast on Sunday 11 June. They’ll briefly visit New Zealand for shows in Auckland and Wellington on Friday June 16 and Saturday June 17, before finishing up their tour in Melbourne on Friday 23 June 2023.
