Perth’s Fringe World Smashes Records in 2016

Perth’s Fringe World has become one of the fastest growing events of its kind and 2016’s event has proven it’s development and progression in spades. The annual review, recently released, has analysed and collated the statistics of this year’s Fringe World, now the largest annual event in Western Australia.

Since its inception in 2011, the Festival has shown to have doubled in size every year since and has led to a stack of new business opportunities for artists. In 2016, Fringe World had stimulated more than $8.3 million in gross box office payments to 365 different performance companies, compared to the $3.3 million awarded to 297 projects by the Department of Culture and the Arts through grants and programs.
