Yates signs to Sweat It Out

2015 has been a pretty solid year for us. New music from What So Not & RUFUS, our first ever Sweat It Out National tour, parties in Miami, New York, LA, and ADE; and as another year draws to a close we’re sure you’ll agree we’ve saved one of the best for last. So it is with great pleasure that Sweat It Out announce the singing of Benjamin Jacob Yates, aka just plain Yates to us.

But Yates is anything but ‘just plain’. The Berlin based Aussie is genuinely one of the coolest guys we have ever met (just one look at his facebook profile will back this claim) and ‘schtick’ isn’t all our new family member brings to the table. This multi instrumentalist has songs for days, and the vocal prowess to back it up every time.

Astronautalis signs to
SideOneDummy Records

When you first find out that SideOneDummy Records has signed a “rapper,” you might do a double take. But when you learn that Minneapolis-based musical mastermind Andy Bothwell, better known by his stage name Astronautalis, spent multiple summers on the Vans Warped Tour, and counts people like Sean Bonnette of Andrew Jackson Jihad among his personal friends, then the news of his signing to SideOneDummy should come as no surprise. The two have a lot in common through their independent and often-times DIY approach, and will now come together to release a brand new Astronautalis album in 2016.

Today, fans can hear “SIKE!,” a blistering new single from Astronautalis. Produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Bill Callahan) and beat by Adam Pickrell (St. Vincent), it’s a feisty and assertive track featuring horns by Reggie Pace (Bon Iver, No BS! Brass Band) that The A.V. Club declares is “brimming with energy and befitting of its exclamation point.”

Danzig
Danzig signs with Nuclear Blast Entertainment for Australia
and New Zealand

You know it’s Danzig the moment you hear him. It’s not just that inimitable voice either. It’s the thick airy guitars, bluesy swagger, and “come hither” evil that placed him at the forefront of a number of musical revolutions. His work has indelibly impacted the landscape of extreme music, fortifying the crossroads between heavy riffs and occult imagery so prevalent these days. Moreover, you can consistently feel his presence throughout pop culture which expands further with his successful Verotik Comics and forthcoming feature film directorial debut. However, Danzig wants to show you where it started with his tenth full-length album and first since 2010’s Deth Red SaboathSkeletons. Due out on November 27 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment/Evilive Records the album is now will be available for Pre-Order Be sure to check out Nuclear Blast’s teaser trailer for the release here.
