The Terrifying Lows, the solo-project for Melbournian Tyler Millott are about to release their second track for 2020, “Running Slow”, following on from “Everywhere You Go (There You Are)”. It has an assured upbeat feel about it, building from the drum beats which open the track. The rest of the instruments gradually enter the fold.
Millott is quite the multi-instrumentalist, playing most of them himself, including guitars, bass, piano and glockenspiel. The track has the feel of Northern English 90’s music, with a modern earthy feel. It has an immersive hypnotic feel to it, joyous grunge with soothing vocals.
Before forming The Terrifying Lows, Millott spent 3 years performing in Ali Barters band. We’ve been a big fan of the project since they launched on the scene in 2018 with debut “Cool With It”.
The track was produced by Josh Barber, engineered by Stephen Mowatt and mixed by Kyle Dreaden. Backing vocals were added by Phoebe Neilson, with Josh Barber on drums and providing additional vocals and percussion.
“Running Slow” will be released on all platforms tomorrow, 23rd October 2020.
