Starting a new record label is never easy, but Nina Las Vegas has announced a pretty solid base for NLV Records, following the news that, after 10 years, she will be hanging up the headphones at triple j and jetting off to the USA. Joining her on this new venture will be a batch of Australia’s freshest producers spanning the sounds that tear up nightclubs on the daily, including grime and house.
Representing the house-leaning side of dance music will be Melbourne’s Lewis Cancut who has just released a new track titled “Systems”. In addition, joining NLV is “oblique club” pioneer Air Max ’97, genre-blender Swick, Adelaide’s industrial grime champ Strict Face, and of course Nina herself. This will be the foundation of NLV Records and Nina is making sure that each artists’ sound is spread far and wide with a series of free downloads over the next four weeks, with one track from each producer.
Nina Las Vegas and NLV Records will be shaking the Australian underground dance music scene and focus on discovering and nurturing up and combing club talents, channeling the same energy she has put into helping kick-start the careers of artists like Flume, Alison Wonderland, Flight Facilities, Wave Racer, and Tkay Maidza.
Today, Saturday October 24th, marks Nina’s final radio broadcast with Mix Up Exclusives after which she’ll be touring around USA and Europe. Check out the dates below.
