Today Dublin singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dunluvly drops his new single, “Too Late”. The single is the first release from his forthcoming EP Plethora.
Written, recorded and produced by Dunluvly in his home studio, the single is a delightful blend of the traditional and contemporary. You’ve got that beautiful fingerpicked guitar, so obviously rooted in the world of folk music, working in tandem with a driving dance-like beat. It makes for quite an uplifting listening experience. And, there’s a real sun kissed nostalgia and vibe about the whole thing. Here’s what Dunluvly had to say about the single:
“This track is one that I’ve always gone back to when I’m travelling or road tripping. I wrote the first half of the song in Vancouver a few years ago and finished it this past summer. To me, it captures the feeling of this summer and was a soundtrack to escaping Dublin to go camping for weeks on and off. The song was written in between those trips. It has that nostalgic, road trip sound, and is about that feeling of excitement leading up to a journey.”
“Too Late” brings to mind the best of the nu-folk crowd, and will appeal to fans of Ben Howard, fellow Irishmen Villagers, José González and others. Give “Too Late” a spin below, and keep an eye out for that EP.
