Australian singer-songwriter Imogen Clark has released a new song, “Found Me”, her first new track in two years. The song was written off the back of the end of a relationship. It’s not a song of mourning though, it’s a song of defiance, strength and a bold celebration of her new-found situation. Imogen’s vocals carry you along on a euphoric wave of positivity.
Imogen says, “I wrote this song at one of my lowest points – fatigued, heartbroken and second guessing the most important decisions I’d made in my life. Writing this song gave me the strength to believe in myself again. It’s an empowerment anthem about making the tough decisions to become the person you need to be, and I hope it can relight some people’s fire in the midst of everything right now”.
“Found Me” is the first release of her next EP, The Making Of Me, which is due to be released in August. The track was co-written with Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young. It was recorded and produced in LA by Mike Bloom (Jenny Lewis).
To celebrate the release of this new material, Imogen is hosting a series of virtual concerts, “Live From The Backyard”. They will be on alternate Saturday nights, in May and June. Each is differently themed; acoustic, electric, piano and ‘by request’. They will be filmed in her backyard, and you can pre-order tickets on the links below.
The accompanying video has been released today, and it certainly helps project the positive emotions of the song. It was directed by Jeremy Dylan who has directed Imogen’s other videos.
For now, watch and enjoy this new song from a gifted songwriter.
