Currently touring Australia for the first time with Ziggy Alberts, UK rising star Nathan Ball has just dropped a brand new single “Call It Love”, and its one that fans of singer/songwriters like Ziggy, Passenger or Kim Churchill need to get their ears around. Hell, if you like music at all then this is probably for you.
The track was produced by Max Radford – who also plays in Ball’s band – and shows the songwriter in his element, with a song that felt like it was made for the Australian Summer.
I was lucky enough to catch the man himself play with Ziggy in Newcastle earlier this month, and can attest to his craft on the stage; but this was just solo. On record, and with the band, he truly comes alive, and “Call It Love” parades those talents for the world to hear.

This is what Nathan had to say about the inspiration behind the track:
“’Call It Love’ was written after we’d been on the road through the summer playing festivals, we were inspired by the energy of it all and got back to London and wanted to get back to writing. Max – our producer had moved his bed into his garage and we turned his room into a studio. It was a great space and worked out pretty well until winter arrived and it got too cold in the garage so we changed it all back around, but we got this song out of it”.
