Softly spoken and infectiously calm, “Down to the Minute” is the latest single from Nearly Oratorio, the latest project from Australian duo Kllo’s Simon Lam and a remarkable showcase for his new EP, A Comforting Fact.
The highly ornate and plucky instrumental that floats through this minimalistic song is as pillow-soft as Lam’s whispered vocals, and as spine-tingling as your favourite ASMR channel.
“Down to the Minute” follows the release of the EP’s lead single “Jupiter”, which has a similarly tender atmosphere. That should tell you quite a bit about this forthcoming EP, which is being described by Simon as featuring “exposed, intelligent and purposeful melodies”.
