Tasmanian singer-songwriter Nuria is kickstarting her 2020 with her latest single, “Noise”. The punchy slice of electro pop is the fourth single from her forthcoming debut album.
The elegant track, which features production work from Alice Springs-based Dave Crowe (Resin Moon), explores relationship discord, and how these feelings can be channeled into sound. It’s basically talking about how we can often use music as a coping mechanism.
According to Nuria: “My music is about emotion and connection to others through shared internal experience. I want people to feel these strong human emotions when they hear my music, and have an opportunity to let themselves sink into it and not be afraid.”
“Noise” follows a strong 2019 for Nuria. With three singles released and a steady build up of support amongst Australian community radio, “Noise” continues this strong trajectory. It’s a solid release. Rich, elegant and textured “Noise” benefits not only from a beautiful vocal performance, but also the moody backing instrumentals that only work in the track’s favour. That little reoccurring guitar riff; sublime.
“Noise” is available now. You can find Nuria on Facebook and Instagram.
