Initially developed through quarantine for the Triple J Unearthed competition #DIYSupergroup, Melbourne based Wolfjay – who played our party in New York back in March – has teamed up with their housemate Austen for the remarkable new single “Very Soon, Very Frequent”.
The original track featured samples from Middle Kids, Tame Impala and G Flip – which sat within the concept of the project – and though they’ve been removed from the wide release of the track (as per the T&C), this does nothing to take away from the experience that made it one of the five finalists in the competition. In fact, their absence only amplifies the strong writing from Jack Alexander, and the impressive vocals that Austen adds to the release. This is undoubtedly the finest release yet from Wolfjay.
The single has been released through New York label Sleep Well Records, and is out now – as is the brand spanking new music video, which was filmed in quarantine:
