After teasing something exciting on their socials last week, the team behind UNIFY Gathering (endearingly known as Emo Christmas) have today announced a new incarnation of the local heavy music festival: UNIFY Off The Record 2023.

The touring festival will be bringing some of the biggest names in the Australian metal and punk scene to smaller venues in Mackay, Adelaide, Wollongong, Hobart and Frankston this May/June, instead of the traditional weekend event in Gippsland, Victoria.

The stacked lineup boasts phenomenal acts like Northlane, Thy Art is Murder, Make Them Suffer, In Hearts Wake, Alpha Wolf, Void of Vision, Thornhill, Ocean Grove, Yours Truly, Teenage Joans and more. Joining the list of incredible local artists is American deathcore band Fit for an Autopsy, who extensively toured Australia last year. As well as live music, UNIFY Off The Record 2023 will also be hosting artist signings, a 24 Hundred pop-up shop, DJs, panels and APRA Songcraft Sessions.

“When we made the decision to skip the 2023 gathering, we knew right away that we wanted to do something to fill the space left. We’ve always been so grateful to all the people who make the annual pilgrimage to Gippsland from all over Australia, and sometimes the world. So this year we thought, why not take the show to the people and try to replicate the vibe, ethos and excitement of UNIFY on a different scale.” Red Hill Entertainment.

Since 2015, UNIFY Gathering has taken place during seven of the past eight years to bring a diverse roster of local and international heavy acts to regional Victoria. Previous headliners include Alexisonfire, Architects, Underoath and The Ghost Inside.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday 22 March at 9am local time. For more information, visit www.unifygathering.com and sign up to their mailing list for regular updates.
