Sometimes I just love my job. Last week I received a copy of Basick Records new 2012 sampler, which has combined some of the best independant progressive metal bands in the world and placed them all on one album.
This album is absolute magic, its brutal and intense, its laid back and moody, it’ll bring you a cup of tea in the morning and will sing you a lullaby at night.
Its an album that you will want to play over and over again, each time discovering something new. Who needs the major record labels, when the independents can put together something like this.
Check out The Arusha Accords track The Resurgent and Chimp Spanners, Dark Age of Technology… brilliant and diverse bodies of work the fit together on this record like the words Pamela Anderson and Plastic Surgery.
There honestly is something on here for everyone… even your nanna will be dying to get in on the circle pit after a couple of listens to 7 Horns 7 Eyes, The Winnowing
