Nanoleaf has revealed the next generation of its lighting hardware, alongside some software updates for existing products. The live event happened on Friday afternoon and showcased a full suite of new innovative smart products that range from immersive to ambient lighting to enhance every room in the home truly.
Introducing Nanoleaf Blocks
Nanoleaf Blocks are taking the lines and hexagons and introducing blocks, a sleek and modular square light that will come in two sizes, Squares and Small Squares. These can be combined with Textured Square light panels, light pegboard and Shelves. These blocks are perfect for any space, when you combine the pegboards and shelves you can use them to display and store gaming controllers, pop vinyls and shelves as well.
The blocks have a completely upgraded design with edge-to-edge illumination which will cover any dark spots, the lighting on the edge will provide an ambient diffusing glow on the wall behind it as well.
The regular-size block will also feature a 3D-textured diffuser that can be used for different effects, this is the feature that I am most looking forward to.
A backlit pegboard pairs with a diffuser to give you a space to show off your gaming headphones on hanging hooks, it can also be just used to provide a different aesthetic to your block design. It can be integrated with your block designs and will all connect to look spectacular. It is worth noting that they do require drilled-in wall anchors so be sure you want these to stay in place when assembling. The other new addition is the shelf which can be attached underneath or between two blocks.
Sense + Switch
The next hardware announcement is the Sense+ Smart Wireless Anywhere switch. It is a configurable light switch that offers full control of Nanoleaf lighting from anywhere. It doesn’t require drilling into the walls or any access to internal wiring so it can be placed anywhere.
There is also a motion/daylight sensor so it can be programmed to automatically turn lights on and off based on the internal light in your home. At the bottom of the controller are two customisable buttons that can have up to six different actions. It can easily turn on your favourite scenes to everyday white lighting that can also have the brightness adjusted with the dimmer controls on the switch.
The sensor can also be used to turn your lights on and off when you enter a room and turn them off again when you leave. The control uses Nanoleaf’s new proprietary Litewave technology, creating the most seamless and reliable communication between devices. Sense+ is on pre-order now and will begin shipping in October.
Permanent Outdoor Lights
The Smart Leaf outdoor products are going permanent with the new Nanoleaf Smart Matter Multicolour Permanent Outdoor Lights. This will transform the exterior of your home with year-round lighting customisation for everyday illumination and holiday lighting effects. There will be special scenes for events like Halloween and Christmas to truly make your house stand out. The permanent outdoor lights are UV resistant and IP67 and IP65 rated boasting a weatherproof all-season use that is also fitted with an anti-glare lens that can also create a smooth wall wash effect.
There are 30 individually addressable LED pucks per 15M length where you can create your multicolour animations. All of these lights are trimmable and extendable up to 45M. There is also a re-designed easy-to-use mounting system with cable covers included which will assist in the ease of setting them up.

Orchestrator & Scenescapes Features to Elevate the Experience
The Nanoleaf Desktop App will be getting two new smart features with Orchestra’s advanced music synchronisation technology and Scenescapes.
Orchestrator will use real-time song detection and analysis algorithms to create colour palettes and animated motions curated to each song. This is an alternative to the current Rhythm feature that picks up on rhythm from the built-in mic, the Orchestrator will connect to your PC’s audio source including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube) and will eliminate any ambient noise interference and produce the most accurate music visualiser.
Scenescapes will create the ultimate relaxation with experiences like gentle ocean waves or a cozy crackling fireplace, it is designed to be the perfect background to help you relax after a long day.
