While plenty of attention is focused on Samsung’s super premium Z Fold2 device right now, the company has released the latest model in its dominant Galaxy S20 series, slimming a few things and straightening out the price point for a “Fan Edition”.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE takes much of what makes its more expensive cousins so great and balances it with a more attractive price point, bubbling just above 1k for the 5G model, and slightly below that four-figure barrier for the 4G. This has trimmed a few of those super-powered specs of the Ultra, but as you can see from the spec sheet below, compromises are minimal.

The appearance of this Fan Edition marks Samsung’s close relationship with consumers, actioning feedback to retain standout features and drop the price at the same time. This means the FE still has a super smooth scrolling display, powerful AI camera, advanced chipset, hyper-fast connectivity, all-day battery, expandable storage, and a streamlined premium design.

Samsung’s designers have also been generous with the colourways available for the FE, with six different options for customers across Cloud red, orange, lavender, mint, white, and navy. All colours feature a premium textured haze effect that minimises fingerprints and smudges.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition pre-sale for Australia will take place from Friday 25th September, with general retail available from Friday 9th October. The 5G model retails for A$1,419, while the 4G model sits at $999. Note that, as with other S20 releases, pre-orders will include an offer of Samsung Galaxy Buds Live.
