Sony reveals the winners of the 2024 Alpha Awards

On a glorious Friday night of creative festivity at the White Bay Power Station, Sony’s prestigious annual photo competition brings on its moment of truth. Needless to say, the excitement was palpable as Sony announced the winners of the ninth annual Sony Alpha Awards, celebrating creativity and talent in photography across Australia and New Zealand.

This thrilling event recognized photographers from enthusiastic amateurs to seasoned pros, showcasing over 2,600 breathtaking images captured on Sony Alpha cameras and lenses.

Ben Sowry took home the Grand Prize for his captivating wedding image, “To Honour You,” which earned him a fantastic $10,000 worth of Sony gear! In total, the awards distributed an impressive $54,000 in camera equipment, with each category winner walking away with $4,000 in digital imaging gear.

The winners were revealed at the iconic Rozelle White Bay Power Station in Sydney, marking a memorable celebration of photographic excellence.

The Sony Alpha Awards not only highlighted the incredible talent of photographers but also inspired everyone in attendance. The atmosphere buzzed with positivity and creativity, a true testament to the power of community and passion in photography.
