The Anker MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank is a portable wonder

We’ve had the pleasure of reviewing several Anker products over the years, including the Anker Prime 250W charger, which is still at my desk, and their 10,000 mAh 30W Power Bank, which I had used up until this particular review. As great as that previous portable charger has been, the MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank has been a more stylish, convenient option for charging not only my iPhone 16 Pro when out on the go but a range of other devices as well.

Thanks to 15W MagSafe charging for compatible devices and an included USB-C charging port which can be used to charge several non-MagSafe devices as well, there’s not much this compact wonder cannot do.

Design

While it’s mentioned in its name, the MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank utilises the keyword ‘slim’ to the fullest. Measuring 10.3 x 7.06 x 1.5 cm, the MagGo 10K Slim is one of the smallest MagSafe portable chargers I have seen, particularly for its larger capacity. I’ve seen 5K MagSafe portable chargers that are this big, if not bigger.

Available in both black and white, the MagGo 10K Slim features a matte UV finish on top and a sturdier metal frame around its border. Anker also mentions that its power bank utilises an ActiveShield™ safety system, which constantly monitors the temperature of the power bank over 3 million times daily. It seems like a crazy number, but it ultimately aims to keep charging temperatures below 40 degrees Celsius.

In terms of additional design features, there’s not much left to mention. There is a charging indicator light below to keep you updated on its remaining capacity. Finally, a USB-C to USB-C cable is also included, to charge the power bank itself.

Performance

The MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank is Qi2 certified, meaning it can deliver faster charging speeds with more accuracy. There are a couple of ways to get a charge from the MagGo 10K Slim, the first of which is attached to any MagSafe device. The iPhone 12 and above comes included with MagSafe technology, meaning you can slap this straight on the back of your phone to begin charging. Keep in mind, that you will need a MagSafe-compatible case if you want to charge with one attached.

I can’t lie, 15W charging speeds are great when it comes to wireless charging. While I’m sure the aforementioned ActiveShield™ safety system is keeping the temperature below 40 degrees Celcius, this does get warm after an hour or so of charging. Of course, the overall temperature of the environment will influence this at times, and it is Summer here in Australia, I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable to hold, but noticeably warm after longer charging sessions.

If you don’t have a MagSafe device or simply wish to charge at faster speeds with a compatible device, the MagGo 10K Slim has you covered here too. Simply plug in a USB-C cable and you’ll be able to charge at 30W speeds. This made more of a difference at times, depending on your setup.

If you’re carrying a bag to store the power bank in, then it might be worth bringing a cable along for a quick 30W top-up. While it was never annoying to carry on the back of the phone itself, having the ability to store this elsewhere should you have the room, made those faster charging speeds more desirable at times. That being said, I appreciate the option nonetheless.

Overall, the MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank is an incredibly versatile option that can not only charge at different speeds but also in different ways. Its 10K capacity means it is even ready to charge two phones fully (on average) with possibly even a little left to spare. While it can’t charge two devices at once, it’s doing almost everything else incredibly well.

Verdict & Value

Anker’s MagGo 10K Slim Power Bank is a well-built, powerful and versatile portable charger that gives users plenty of options for various devices, charging speeds and charging methods. While MagSafe charging is spreading beyond the confines of Apple or iOS devices regardless, it’s nice to see that this can also allow for both 15W wireless Qi2 charging and 30W wired charging through the provided USB-C port.

Its sturdy and ergonomic design is super compact and easy to hold when attached to the phone. It does get warm after longer charges, but never to the point where it’s uncomfortable to hold. That being said, the matte UV finish and ActiveShield™ safety system are doing their best to assist here as well.

Overall, there’s plenty to love about this compact and versatile portable charger, making it an essential item for anyone with an iPhone 12 or above, or anyone who wants powerful and compact charging on the go.
