It’s widely known that 8Bit have some of the best burgers in all of Australia, regularly attracting queues to their O.G Footscray and now Swanston Street venues. Just the very mention of their expertly designed burgers is enough to elicit copious amounts of drool, so think of how wet the typical Melburnian appetite will be when they team with BBQ joint Up In Smoke to bring an epic pop-up to Flinders Lane.
The pixelated 8Bit Bonus Round pop-up is said to feature an all new menu created especially for the temporary installation, which will open around the end of this month. Five burgers have been added to the menu, as well as a “bonus round”, and The Zelda, one of their most popular weekly specials which was an all-vego burger that even dedicated meat eaters fell in love with. According to Good Food, 8Bit will even have a vegan burger on offer, with non-dairy cheese and a milk-free, gluten-free bun. Other new additions include a fried mac’n’cheese burger, waffle fries loaded with cheese and bacon, and popcorn chicken topped with chilli cheese, all of which can be washed down with a range of milkshakes.
The temporary eatery will be located at 113 Flinders Lane from approximately the end of July until the end of the year, with hours said to be from Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. Stay up to date on any developments via 8Bit’s Facebook
