Circular Quay’s famed ARIA Sydney will be pushing further into winter with an exclusive Whisky tasting experience early July, with the restaurant’s team joining up with one of the country’s leading Whisky experts, Franz Scheurer. Those who head along to the special dinner will have a rare opportunity to sample some of Scotland’s most robust aged Whiskies paired up with a fine dining experience curated by Head Chef Ben Turner.
Scheurer is known as a leading authority in the Australian Whisky scene, with 20 years experience and a reputation as the founder of Australian Gourmet Pages. Him coming on board brings a great wealth of knowledge to the dinner, making this one of the most luxurious Whisky pairing experiences of the winter, giving guests access to a wide range of flavour profiles.
Turner has crafted five dishes based on the flavour profiles of the Whiskies, including Comte Gruyere Cheese Gougeres with smoked paprika, paired with Tamdhu 15 Y.O from Speyside; Poached Marron Tail with white beans and kombu bitter, paired with William Cadenhead 25 Y.O Small Batch from Cambeltown; and Iranian Fig Compote with barberries, hazelnuts, lemon, and saffron sorbet, paired up with Ardbeg Supernova Committee from Islay.
The dinner is priced at $285 per person and will begin from 6:30pm (for a 7pm start) on Wednesday 6th July. The price includes all five courses and all matched Whiskies. Tickets can be purchased HERE or by calling 02 9240 2255.
