Ella Fence, whose debut EP Wanderlust garnered international attention, is touring the US, Canada and the UK with her all-female Folk/Pop band. This week the artist has already performed at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and last night at New York’s The Bowery Electric, before travelling to Toronto for Canadian Music Week through the first week of May, and finishing up in the UK, with performances in London and Brighton for The Great Escape.
From her debut EP, Ella’s music has transcended national borders. Wanderlust was recorded at Brighton Electric Sounds in the UK, and the B-side track was recorded in Paris with Ken Stringfellow. Her album found an audience both in Australia, and overseas; it was picked up by various radio stations across Australia (Triple J, ABC, 4ZZZ Brisbane), but also by independent stations in the US.
With this tour, Ella brings her “hypnotising” (Soho Radio, London), “eerie, beautiful and powerful” (Veronica Milsom, Triple J), and “wild, feral swooping” (Ken Stringfellow) voice to the international stage once again.
