Best Western gives Glebe guesthouse a multi million dollar makeover (Sydney)

The Haven Inn, on 196 Glebe Point Road, has been given a roughly AUD$3 million facelift by Best Western Hotels & Resorts .  This makes Best Western Haven Glebe the hotel group’s fifth Sydney hotel, alongside the Best Western PLUS Hotel Stellar in Sydney CBD and Best Western Twin Towers in Artarmon.

Listed as a 4-star boutique hotel, the Best Western Haven Glebe has 56 guest rooms, retail frontage,  free onsite parking, 24-hour reception, a business centre and gym.  Room types include queen, king or twin room types, and each room is outfitted with free in-room Wi-Fi and large 40” LED TVs.  The bathrooms are fitted with rain showerheads and offer L’Occitane products.

The icing on the cake includes an internal ‘zen’ courtyard and street-facing balconies. The onsite restaurant has yet to open, but in the meantime, guests are treated to a convenient chargeback and room service arrangement with the neighbouring Glebe Cafe.

Steve Richards, the hotel group’s newly appointed Head of Commercial, says, “Best Western’s newest accommodation in Glebe will help ease some strain on Sydney’s room capacity, especially with the annual Vivid Festival and Mardi Gras approaching. Best Western Haven Glebe is a classic example of the high calibre of hotels joining the midscale Best Western brand. Free Wi-Fi is offered at all Best Western hotels regardless of the guest’s loyalty program status, which is a something business travellers and holidaymakers know they’ll get when booking Best Western worldwide”.

Guests choosing to stay at Best Western Haven Glebe not only have access to great amenities within the hotel, but are also a stone’s throw away from many of Sydney’s most renowned precincts, including Darling Harbour, the Sydney Fish Markets, Broadway and Market City Shopping Centres, Chinatown, The University of Sydney and Sydney CBD.  A room on the top floor of the hotel, facing Glebe Point Road, also offers guests panoramic views of the Anzac Bridge to the Sydney Tower Eye and Darling Harbour.
