Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co has officially opened in Melbourne CBD

Taking over our Instagram feeds for a while now has been the burger craze, each one looking as monstrous and delicious as ever. Now reaching the peak of popularity, burger joints have been popping up left, right and centre, especially when it comes to the streets of Melbourne.

Adding to the already overcrowded burger scene is Betty’s Burger & Concrete Co., who have made an exciting new move in opening their first location outside of Queensland.

For burger enthusiasts around the country, this Noosa, Surfer’s Paradise and recently Robina venue has received a lot of recognition for their menu. Famous for their simplicity and freshness, Betty’s Burgers is also easily recognised by their beach-shack design with their bright, bold colours and shingled exterior.

On their menu you’ll find a range of burgers, from a crispy chicken ($11) as well as Pork Belly ($12) or Mushroom (Shroom Burger $12). There’s also the unique Bare Betty ($10) that comes without the bread, wrapped in lettuce. Although you definitely can’t go wrong with a classic beef burger (Betty’s Classic $10). Rich in flavour from the beef and Betty’s special sauce, it’s a great starter that will convince you to come back again and work your way through the menu.

With the usual sides of fries or onion rings, the Betty’s Burgers staple (other than their burgers, of course) may just be their “Concrete” desserts: house-made frozen custard ice cream. Received with plenty of excited smiles, the concretes are a dream come true for the sweet-tooths. The flavours come in either vanilla or chocolate, with the options of mix ins such as Persian fairy floss, almond toffee, and peanut butter cups.

If you’re struggling to decide what mix ins you want, you also have the option to choose some of Betty’s favourite concrete recipes ($8) which include the enticing Peanut Butter Brittle or Hot Fudge Doughnut. However, I would recommend the Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake, the sour lemon flavour is a sharp contrast against the sweetness of the frozen custard.
