After years of bouncing around between pop-ups, the queue-magnet that is Burgers by Josh has finally settled into a permanent groove. Returning to where it all began, Greenwood Plaza, Josh Arthur and his team have joined new concept café Blue 36 as the latest to open doors at the shopping hub’s refreshed food court, joining the likes of Italian Street Kitchen, Thr1ve, Bun Me and Fogo Brazilia.
An homage to all things burgers and American cuisine, Burgers by Josh has become a dominate name on the local food scene, attracting alarmingly long queues and frequently selling out of those signature, incredibly indulgent burgers which customers often super-size with various add-ons. It’s lead to many “best burgers in Sydney” claim, and while the competition is fierce and comprehensive, BBJ has clearly remained a worthy contender.
Signature spiked milkshakes, craft beers and burgers are the orders of the day over at BBJ, featured on a menu which includes new favourites like the Angry Anderson with double wagyu patty, crispy bacon, cheese and special sauce, and the Fat Tony with double wagyu, rocket-smoked Texan BBQ sauce, crispy bacon and potato buns.
While further details on the regular weekly specials will roll out on the venue’s Facebook, the opening special (available for 7 days from 6th March) seems to be a pretty good indication of how OTT we can expect them to go. Head along within the new few days and you can get yourself a El Chapo, which is Southern fried chicken, chimmi churri, pico de gallo, liquid jalapeno cheese, charred chorizo, and mayo between two potato buns.
“My first ever pop-up was at Greenwood Plaza so it’s great to be back in the same place my journey began,” said Arthur. “We will be introducing weekly and daily specials alongside our regular menu to celebrate the opening and I look forward to meeting lots of new, and hopefully regular, faces”.
