Since October 2016, the newly renovated doors at Chadstone Shopping Centre have been open for shoppers and tourists alike, with hundreds of new stores, restaurants, and meticulously designed architectural elements to admire. For most, the opening of Hoyts Cinema after two years gone was a big step forward for the property, especially given that the movie-going hotspot is now playing host to Chur Burger.
Often credited for sparking the gourmet burger movement across Australia, Chur Burger has made a name for itself in both Sydney and Brisbane, ranking high in the top burger joints of these cities, priding themselves of using the freshest ingredients. Now standing at Hoyts Chadstone, Head Chef Warren Turnbull oversees the kitchen, making each burger fresh to order.
Though the Classic Beef with sweet and spicy pickles, American cheese, mustard mayo and homemade tomato jam remains Chur’s most popular for movie-goers, the menu is a solid selection that includes a marinated grilled chicken burger, spicy beef burger, the ever-loved pulled pork burger, and the crumbed fish fillet burger.
Those wanting to switch it up a bit can take their pick from two hotdog options: Chipotle, with beef sausage and tomato salsa, chipotle mayonaise and grated parmesan; or a Chilli hotdog with beef sausage topped with chilli con carne, spicy pickles and cheese sauce. It’s a substantial move away from the expected popcorn-and-choc-top combo, especially valuable with one of those spiked milkshakes.
Chur Burger is positioned in Hoyt’s newest section, Eat Street, a laneway filled with delicious eateries from the likes of Ben & Jerry’s and Arties Bar & Cafe, with “Treat Stree”t at the end as a one-stop-shop for movie snacks.
The Food & Beverage Manager for Hoyts says the intention for Eat Street was for it to be a place where family and friends come to enjoy great food as well as see a new release film.
“We wanted to ensure that our cinema guests have even more variety and offerings, so we completely overhauled the casual dining experience here at Hoyts Chadstone to facilitate a place for people to come together as an all-encompassing experience.”
