Cocktail Recipe: Primus Hotel’s Espresso Martini

It’s World Martini Day today (Sunday 19th June) and being a traditionally lazy day of the week we thought you’d want to stay home and mix up some classics so you can still get involved in the global celebration. More so than most other classics, the martini is so deeply embedded in popular culture that it has become a reference point for cocktail lovers across the world. Building on the classic, there have been plenty of twists and turns to keep the classic recipe fresh, but none have stuck quite as well as the Espresso Martini.

We sourced the recipe for one our favourite Espresso Martini’s in Sydney from the five-star luxury Primus Hotel Sydney for ya’ll:

Espresso Martini

Ingredients
30 ml House infused vanilla belvedere unfiltered vodka
30 ml House Cold dripped coffee
20ml of Kahlua
10ml of Frangelico shaken on ice

Method
Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a martini glass and serve in chilled martini glass and garnish with 3 roasted coffee beans. Note: Primus Hotel Sydney serves the cocktail in a glass that has been chilled to -50 degrees Celsius by using liquid nitrogen at -210 degrees to chill the glass.

Tasting notes
Freshly roasted coffee been on the nose with hint of hazelnut, sweet, creamy and full bodied on palate.
