First Look: Fitzroy’s six-week pop up Gelato Fiasco log cabin (Melbourne)

Just the other week, we brought you news about a unique pop-up gelato log cabin opening in Fitzroy for six weeks. It’s a temporary hub by the team from Portland gelateria Gelato Fiasco, who have just brought their bold American-inspired flavours over Australia. The Gelato Fiasco pop-up will be a chance for Melbourne’s lucky dessert lovers to dip into scoops of four different flavours that aren’t at all what you’d expect from your standard gelato.

Toppings at the cabin are going for $7 a pop from now until 11th September, and include Wake ‘N’ Bacon using pancake flavoured gelato, maple syrup, and bacon flavoured candies; The Big County Brownie, which is mint flavoured gelato with brownie pieces and a chocolate sauce; Maine Munchies, topping peanut butter gelato with salted chocolate pretzels; and The Log Cabin, a chocolate gelato which has been covered with whiskey syrup and sriracha flake coated almonds.

The rest of the country can pick up 470ml pints of the flavours from 7-Eleven stores for an RRP for $12 each, but nothing really beats watching those fresh scoops of gelato served straight from frosty glass displays straight to your face. Need we say more? Nope. Let’s eat with our eyes for a moment with these shots from the launch night:
