Applejack Group opens Hester’s Cafe and Bar this week

After the successful launch of restaurants in the Wynyard Precinct with Bopp & Tone and June’s Shoppe, the Applejack group is launching its third CBD venue, Hester’s Cafe and Bar.

The cafe and bar will offer a dine-in and takeaway menu designed by Bopp & Tone Head Chef, Sa Va’afusuaga. Expect some classic breakfast dishes, home-baked pastries and muffins with Gabriel roasted coffee.

As their lunch menu is Mediterranean-inspired, you can anticipate some delectable dishes including Hester’s wood-fired chicken club, slow braised lamb ragout and Bopp’s popular burger. A selection of seafood dishes are also available including salt cod fritters, fried calamari, Australian king prawns and plenty more.

Drawing inspiration from its namesakes and influences from historical events in Sydney, Applejack co-founders, Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts express the inspiration behind the venue:

“We wanted to create an intrinsically Sydney experience within a unique and distinctive setting. Bopp & Tone, June’s Shoppe and now Hester’s, are a nod to our grandparents, who symbolise and embody the iconic and nostalgic Sydney of the past, which is reflected in the food and interiors of each venue. Food influences come from our chef’s passion for Mediterranean food and philosophies that translate so well with Australian ingredients and the Aussie way of life.”

Hester’s Cafe and Bar will be open from Wednesday August 12 Mon-Fri, serving breakfast from 7am – 11am and lunch from 11:30am – 3pm. Located in the precinct which sits opposite Wynyard park.

Applejack’s Wynyard Precinct will be fully operational as of Friday 14th August once Bopp & Tone re-opens. June’s Shoppe is currently trading for breakfast and lunch, Mon-Fri.
