Things are heating up in the kitchen, with just two weeks to go till the Home Cooking Show and Cake, Bake, and Sweets Show come to Melbourne for a weekend of workshops, recipes, demonstrations, hands-on experiences and, of course, plenty of food and drink.
The show will run from July 5th to 7th at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), with hundreds of food and drink items for you to try. There will be plenty of experience on hand, with last year’s My Kitchen Rules winners Radha & Prabha and David Tan from last year’s Masterchef alongside the likes of Monica Cavallaro, Catherin Zhang, Bridget Forehan, and Cas Wente, to mention a few.
If Wine and Cheese is more your thing (it is definitely mine!) an alley set among the Flavours of the World stage where cooks and chefs from all over the world will showcase authentic multicultural cuisines.
Celebrity Chefs will offer meet-and-greet experiences from popular shows like MKR and Masterchef Australia. The festival will also offer you a chance to participate in Make and Take classes alongside Hands-On Workshops, where you will have the opportunity to learn from the best and pick up on all the tips and tricks, along with a tasty treat to show for it.
There is an Art of Cake competition in which Australia’s most talented cake decorators and home bakers compete to win up to $3000 in cash and prizes. The competition is set through a creative cake maze that showcases artistry and innovation.
The Sweet and Savoury Marketplace will also showcase those cravings with crafted sticky, sweet, fried, frozen, savoury and innovative combinations, brought to you by the most red-hot baking and home cooking brands in Australia. Some of the amazing sweet and savoury food vendors include creations from Yummy Cannoli, Sweet Darl’n, The Confectioner, Gotham Donuts, Juicello, Twista Bros, Local Brewing Co, Rewine, Got Cakey, among the many on this list.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will have the chance to enter competitions and giveaways for Kenwood kitchen appliances, cookbooks, food hampers, and more.
