Sydney is getting its first ever KitKat Chocolatory in July

Those in need of a delicious break (everyone) should start stretching their queuing-up muscles because Sydney’s getting its first ever KitKat Chocolatory flagship. Opening on 6th July, the debut store will stretch it’s legs at Mid City Sydney, offering up a sizable collection of personalised, premium chocolate experienced inspired by and dedicated entirely to the timeless wafer bar.

The chocolate boutique will be one of the first major openings Sydney has seen since restrictions were eased just a few weeks ago, featuring experiences such as “Create Your Break” which tasks customers to design their own 8-finger bar from up to 30,000 possible combinations, spanning a range of premium chocolates, gourmet ingredients and custom package designs.

Anyone diving into the Create Your Own bar offering can either watch in-store as a team of chocolatiers bring their creation to life, or return to pick it up later.

“We are looking forward to offering Sydneysiders a KitKat Chocolatory experience that allows them to explore their creativity and discover amazing chocolate combinations, handcrafted by our incredibly talented chocolatiers,” said Nestlé General Manager Confectionery Chris O’Donnell, who hopes the new Sydney store will build in the success of the Melbourne boutique.

The store will also feature a “Tasting Table”, with a curated menu of KitKat-inspired desserts pulling on the latest chocolate trends as well as the brand’s long history. Dine-in guests can book a seat at the table, with reservations for up to ten guests for a 90 minute seating, via the OpenTable platform.

A “KitKat Chocolate Train” will allow choc-lovers to taste teste new creations with fillings like Yuzu Ganache, Peanut Butter & Raspberry and Wasabi Crème. It sounds not too dissimilar to a sushi train, with guests able to pick up the bars as they pass by on the custom-made train.

“Mix Your Break” will be a selection of 12 individually wrapped flavours, spanning the likes of Cotton Candy, Guava, Churros, Sake and Matcha, so you will no longer have to stuff your suitcase full of them the next time you’re over in Japan. Other sections in the store will feature alongside this, taking in everything from milk, white, ruby, dark, marble and orange almond, to volcanic Vanuatu and a special edition Aussie Lamington version.
