You can find martinis everywhere in Sydney. The colder the better. And yet, this classic cocktail needed a bit of spicing up earlier this month for Australian Gin Week. Luckily, the locally grown Seven Seasons label stepped up to the plate.
Earlier this month, the Australian gin brand teamed up with Barangaroo House’s music loving Rekodo Restaurant & Vinyl Bar to launch a very unique Green Ant Gin Martini.
Channeling the rich history and flavours of Australian flora, award-winning bartender Jai Lyons and Solotel head chef Michael Dabbs have curated an offering that’s possibly the most unique thing you can do in Sydney right now. Even Dabbs’ food has taken a twist with green ants being added to dishes like a $14 steak tartare temaki with koji, finger lime dressing, and green ant garnish.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it on down to Barangaroo House this week, however. The Green Ant Gin Martini will also be served at some of the country’s top venues, which I’ve listed below. And if you don’t want to leave the house at all – I don’t blame you with this weather Sydney is having right now – then just hit up Seven Seasons and buy your own Green Ant Gin to practice with at home.
Green Ant G&Ts, anyone?
