Want to explore Central American and Mexico this Sunday? You’re in luck. As part of their virtual travel series, which kicked off last week with a tour around Italy and attracted more than 750 e-travellers, G Adventures are barrelling forth with their awesome live virtual small group tour concept.
Cosy up to your chosen device and strap in this Sunday for a live small group tour across Central America and Mexico, in addition to a walking tour of Antigua to a salsa lesson in Ecuador.
G Adventure’s Chief Experience Officer Jon will be leading the deep-dive, which starts on Sunday 10th May at 10am AEST. Anyone wanting to join the tour needs to sign up first, and can do so HERE.
Before you do, you should also familiarise yourself with what to expect. You can watch a pre-recorded virtual walking tour of Antigua, led by Jon, over on YouTube.
The whole idea behind the live virtual tours concept is allowing e-travellers to get as close as possible to one of G Adventures’ curated trips without even having to open their passport. The platform, through Zoom and social media, simply takes people on a cross-country experience, introducing them to different locations, cultures and activities, in just under an hour.
Participants simply ‘meet’ in a live Zoom room and interact with their CEO in real time, while observers also have the opportunity to follow along without having to join the group. The virtual tours then make use of Google Maps and photos to “walk” viewers around the destination while sharing insider secrets, history and travel tips. The first one took e-travellers around Florence, and you can watch it over on the G Adventures website HERE.
Other online initiatives include Travel Trivia every Tuesday (7pm AEST) with a different destination each week (info HERE), and Virtual Moments where the G Adventures Facebook and YouTube pages host weekly moments that cover everything from food and wellness to hands-on learning experiences.
Following this Sunday’s digital excursion, small group tours are being planned to Argentina and Vietnam. Just remember to register before each one kicks off on Sunday mornings.
G Adventures will continue to add elements and destinations to the new Virtual Travel Experiences. For more information head on over to gadventures.com.
