Golden Age Cinema is serving up cherry pie at their two-day David Lynch marathon this weekend (Sydney)

Petersham’s Daisy’s Milk Bar has hooked up with hipster favourite Golden Age Cinema & Bar to celebrate the imminent arrival of David Lynch’s long-awaited reboot of Twin Peaks. How so? The lively milk bar will be serving up slices of their gorgeous cherry pie as the Surry Hills cinema present two days of Lynch classics in a themed “Gold Lodge”.

Planned for Saturday 20th and 21st May, the Lynch-a-thon will feature some of the famed director’s most memorable films in addition to Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and free screenings of the first and last episodes of Twin Peaks. That means you’ll be watching the likes of 1977 horror Eraserhead and 1990 crime-drama Wild at Heart in between your attempts at besting Twin Peaks Trivia or enjoying a Lynch-inspired live set from local band Phanosland.

Of course one of the biggest reasons to head on down this weekend is a combo of thick dough and house-made cherry mix, seeing as Daisy’s will be showcasing their indulgent cherry pie across both days, though for anyone who misses out you can always head along to the colourful milk bar on 340 Stanmore Road any day of the week.

The screening schedule for both days is as follows:

Saturday 20th May
3pm to 5pm – Twin Peaks catch-up (free entry, limited space)
5:15pm – Wild at Heart
7:45pm – Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

Sunday 21st May
3pm to 5pm – Twin Peaks catch-up (free entry, limited space)
5:30pm – Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
8:30pm – Eraserhead

Note that Entrance to the bar, photo booth, live music and catch-up episodes in the cinema is free; trivia and films are ticketed events ($15pp, includes a limited edition mug, bottomless coffee and a shot at some prizes).

For those that need more of a Twin Peaks fix, Stan Australia have partnered up with Gelato Messina to turn two of their stores – one in Sydney, one in Melbourne – into official “Double R Diner” pop-ups, immersive homages to the iconic series. They’ll be serving up all types of Twin Peaks inspired gelato greatness, which you can read more about HERE.

Directed by David Lynch, the 18-part limited event series for Twin Peaks will debut on Stan with a two-part premiere on Monday 22nd May at 2pm, followed immediately by parts 3 and 4.
