Australia’s preeminent beer festival, Good Beer Week, has now released the much-anticipated event program for 2016. With 270 events spanning across 150 venues across Melbourne and Victoria from May 13-22, over fifty thousand guests are expected to participate in this globally-recognised festival, with Beer Deluxe serving as one of the festival’s central hubs.
The 2016 program includes a mixture of popular regular events and a range of diverse and innovative events that are new to the festival. Some highlights to look out for are:
Mega Deva IV ($145) – A six-course menu will be will created by a selection of chefs from around the beer word. Special guests include Garage Project (NZ), Brewdog (UK), Rodenbach (BEL), Temple Brewing Company (VIC), Pirate Life (SA) as well as the crew from Craft and Co. to create the beer list.
Brewers and Chewers ($90) – Featuring the brewers from Sixpoint (USA), Stone (USA), Wolf of the Willows (VIC), Bach (NZ), Nail (WA), Pirate Life (SA) and Palm (Belgium), this famously fun dinner party at The Local Taphouse in St Kilda sells out every year.
Grandad’s Supper ($100) – The Hub invites you to join in a four-course dinner and beer matching evening. Each course will be matched with Whiskey Barrel Aged beer from Boatrocker, Mountain Goat, Stone Brewing and Brooklyn Brewing.
Four Pillars & MPB @ Belleville ($100) – Four Pillars Distillery of the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula Brewery compliment Belleville’s champion roast chicken dinner.
Rodenback, Opera & A Church: A Heavenly Match ($69) – Beneath the stained glass windows of St. Stephen’s Church, live opera is to be enjoyed with exclusive Rodenbach ales and one-off handcrafted cheeses.
Beer vs Beast ($49.95) – Brewmanity and Mick Fanning’s new brewery Balter Brewing Co. come together to unleash their collab brew ‘The Beast Tamer’ at Ormond Hall Village Melbourne. This Sunday session of great music and beer will help raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease.
