Harpoon Harry to welcome Adelaide’s Africola for collaborative event (Sydney)

The Harpoon Harry kitchen is sure going to be crowded on Sunday 7th August as resident chef Morgan McGlone presents the latest in his “Friends of Harry’s” series, which has already seen the likes of legendary pitmaster Rodney Scott attract wild queues. For the third in the collaborative series, Morgan will be dishing up with Duncan Welgemoed (of Adelaide’s excellent Africola) and Monty Koludrovic (of Icebergs Dining Room and Bar) to turn up the heat for an event they are calling “Africola Rock’n Rola”.

All three powerhouse chefs will be blending their skills to design a special menu for the day. Morgan will flash the pans first with some snacks to open up a three-courser that will be handled by Duncan. Monty will take the reigns on dessert and it will all be paired up with wines hand-picked by Sommelier James Hird.

We expect Duncan’s usual mix of smoke, fire, spice, and ash to characterise the dishes he has planned for this one-off event, channeling the South African inspired food that has made Africola one of Adelaide’s trendiest dining spots. Welgemoed is currently planning a refresh down at the East Terrace spot, so this could be a good chance to preview some of the new dishes he has been experimenting with before our friends down south.

Tickets to the event at $150 each and include snacks, four-courses, and matching wines. There are two sittings with strictly limited availability (50 people max) each.
