Perth’s newest hotspot brings the famous HYDE brand from buzzing locations in L.A and Miami down to the world’s most isolated city. A collaboration between Accor and sbe Entertainment Group, Hyde Perth Kitchen & Cocktails, located in the shiny new Art Series Hotel The Adnate, aligns with the brand’s playful, party-minded “casual by day, classy by night” approach to social dining.
The restaurant features an outdoor pool, sun loungers, DJ decks, and a fierce determination to become one of Perth’s more laid-back party spots for after-work drinks and leisurely lunches.
“Urban chic vibe” was the brief given to designer Carlie Milosevic, who has turned in an homage to Perth’s natural beauty. Think pastel sunsets and picturesque beaches reimagined as neutral colour schemes with pops of colour, winding through features like a Calcutta viola marble island bar, and bi-fold doors leading out to the leafy pool deck.
For food, expect Mediterranean snacks from house made dips and braised brisket pita pockets to a selection of wood fired pizzas and summer inspired salads. There’s even a “bottomless fries” option, with five varieties of European flavoured fries to sample.
For cocktails, you’ve got the country’s most awarded bartender, Tim Phillips, working on an extensive list that mirrors the venue’s sense of adventure. Get the Poppop with Don Julio Blanco, buttered popcorn and grapefruit, the honeycomb espresso martini, or a poolside negroni. Though if you want to go hard, grab the 10 litre Tropicana Punch, which sticks to Hyde’s renown of large format drinks.
Of course, Hyde’s entry into the Perth social scene means constant weekly pool parties which will be in full swing each Saturday from 4pm. And that’s only scratching the surface of what one of the city’s biggest new openings has in store for its social calendar, which should be packed full of things to do once summer comes around.
