Laphroaig planning exclusive Whisky pop-ups in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane

Iconic Islay distillery Laphroaig are celebrating 200 years in 2015, and before the year’s out they plan on bringing their Smoke on the Water Whisky Pop-Up to the east-coast of Australia to spread the love. Two centuries of distilling one of the world’s most unique and rewarding Whiskies is no small feat, so we expect these one-night-only events to be huge; they certainly sound quite ambitious, with 10k worth of Laphroaig up for grabs in each city.

Those heading along to the Smoke on the Water pop-ups can expect the distillery’s newest and freshest cocktail creation – the Stone Wall – alongside tastings of Laphroaig’s Select Cask, Quarter Cast, and Triple Wood expressions, right alongside Islay Oysters.

The Stone Wall cocktail is described as a fresh concoction made exclusively for Australia, paying homage to the stone walls of the remote distillery with a combination of Laphroaig Select Cask, rare Laphroaig Whisky Marmalade, Triple Sec, and fresh lemon juice.

Those in attendance will have a chance to win a solid American Oak Whisky cabinet filled with Laphroaig. Entry is by sharing your opinion of Laphroaig on the night the the hashtag #OpinionsWelcome – the most creative will win.
