Melbourne Airport’s international terminal has recently received an Australian first pay-to-enter premium lounge by passenger service company Marhaba. Located in Terminal 2 the lounge, which is staffed by a team of 26 from 6am to midnight daily, is available to passengers departing Melbourne on any airline and offers a number of brag-worthy features including comfortable seating for 200 guests, a quiet zone for relaxation, shower facilities, a worldly buffet cuisine, a selection of premium Australian wines, and a dedicated barista bar manned by Hudson Coffee.
The lounge is a partnership between Marhaba and Priority Pass, the world’s largest independent lounge access provider, and will be complimentary to select passengers flying with a number of international airlines. All others will be able to pay for access either on entry or by booking online.
“Australia is a very important market to us and we continue to look for opportunities to bring more of our services to customers here”, said dnata President Gary Chapman when the lounge launched last month. “We already operate Australia’s leading in-flight catering company, Alpha Flight Services, and are delighted to add the marhaba brand of airport hospitality to serve Melbourne and those passing through Melbourne Airport”.
