Messina, Mary’s and more headed to Canberra for 10 day Commons Street Feast

Canberra is getting a big street food festival before the year’s end, a 10 day summer celebration helped along by some of the country’s fines as Commonwealth Park is turned into an oasis of food trucks, artisan chefs, craft brewers and custom art. <>The Commons Street Feast will run from 9th to 18th December, giving reason for out-of-state vendors to descend on our nation’s capital, bringing burgers, gelato and even a dedicated espresso martini bar.

Gelato Messina will be setting up their special international Soup Kitchen concept, no doubt a huge drawcard along with Sydney favs Mary’s who will run a pop up restaurant from the park for the duration of the free-entry festival. Other food vendors confirmed so far include Bao Stop, pizza truck Happy as Larry, meat and cheese focused Pialligo Estate, Let’s Do Yum Cha, Mama Linh’s, Smokin’ Grill Babecue, and more.

An equally diverse drinks lineup includes the aforementioned Espresso Martini Bar from the folks behind The Melbourne Martini, who will be serving up premium cold drip cocktails while nearby a bespoke Craft Beer Bar will host heroes Little Creatures as well as Batlow Cider, Capital Brewing Co, and Pact Beer Co. Wine fans haven’t been forgotten either, with Rogue Wines planning on debuting their custom made wine caravan for Canberra locals.

To switch things up from your everyday street food festival, The Commons will also be offering an intriguing Butler service, providing a slightly more premium way to experience the event with a limited number of personal assistants available who will reserve a table, order and deliver all the food and drinks with the option of curating a menu of all the choices, for those who hate decisions. Each butler will be able to directly access each of the pop ups, food trucks, and bars so queues are irrelevant.
