Tigerair Australia have made a big move in expanding options for those looking to book flights with the low-cost carrier, opening up both domestic and international payments to PayPal. The main benefit of this is that those using the PayPal service to purchase flights will be have access to a cost less than half of the booking service free currently applied to most credit cards, available when purchasing base fares and optional extras online.
Domestic fare payments made using PayPal will attract a booking and service fee of $4 per flight, per person – $6 for international fare payments.
“The introduction of PayPal as a form of payment with Tigerair is another example of how we are looking to continually improve our overall experience and ensure travel is more affordable and convenient for our passengers,” said Tigerair Australia Commercial Director Adam Rowe. “Tigerair Australia has a clear focus on delivering more value and choice and today’s announcement provides customers choosing to fly Tigerair with another affordable payment option.”
Of course, Tigerair Australia are celebrating the new expansion of their online booking options the best way they know how this week: by staging a ‘2for1’ sale across 18 domestic routes. Up until Friday 24th June at 12pm (AEDT), thousands of seats will be on sale for travel during May 2017 (with the promo code ‘2FOR1’). This includes flights between Melbourne and Sydney (from $65); Sydney and Brisbane (from $65); and Melbourne and Hobart (from $49).
