Following a very successful entry into New Zealand with properties in both Wellington and Queenstown, thematic hotel brand QT Hotels & Resorts has today announced the signing of QT Auckland. The property will be located at Viaduct Harbour and mark the 10th QT Hotel overall, introducing a unique hotel to the city with the brand’s renowned design language adapted to the picturesque harbour.
QT Auckland will reshape the existing building at 4 Viaduct Harbour Avenue into a 150-key property with several conferencing and event spaces and a bold new QT signature dining concept and bar. It will be managed by both Russell Property Group and Lockwood Property Group.
“We are excited to have secured a management contract for a QT Hotel in Auckland, a key city that has been a missing piece of the QT footprint”, said Jane Hastings, CEO of Event Hospitality and Entertainment. “Our partnership with Russell Property Group and Lockwood Property Group, together with our talented team of QT creatives, will ensure a QT Auckland experience that will carve a place of its own in the fabric of the city”.
QT go-to Nic Graham will once again come on board to design the hotel’s myriad of public spaces. And seeing as his design has helped QT Hotels win numerous awards in the past, included a recent triple-win in the annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, we’re expecting some fantastic results.
QT Auckland is expected to open in early 2020. Further details will be announced soon. More details on QT Hotels & Resorts can be found here.
