It’s about that time of the year when all things chocolate take centre-stage as people around the world gear up for the Easter weekend. Synonymous with rich, quality chocolate is Max Brenner, the infinitely tempting chain of specialty dessert restaurants. To celebrate the forthcoming festivities, Max Brenner have provided the AU with their recipe for Choc-Banana Pizza, a recipe taken from the comprehensive Chocolate: A Love Story: 65 Chocolate Dessert Recipes from Max’s Private Collection. Choc-Banana Pizza (Serves 8-10)
Ingredients
- 1 pizza base
- 2 teaspoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 sliced banana
- 1 cup hazelnuts
- 1/4 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (recommended: Nutella)
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons white chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped large marshmallows or mini marshmallows
Method
- Position the oven rack on the bottom of the oven and preheat to 230°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Brush the dough with melted butter. Bake until the crust is crisp and pale golden brown (takes about 20 minutes)
- Immediately spread the chocolate-hazelnut spread over the pizza then sprinkle with the chocolate chips, banana, hazelnuts and marshmallows.
- Bake until the chocolate just begins to melt about 2 minutes). Cut into wedges and serve.
