Salt Meats Cheese opens in Bondi (Sydney)

The team behind highly sought after gourmet Italian providore Salt Meats Cheese has officially added Bondi Junction to a long list of recent expansions, gifting one of Sydney’s most famous suburbs access to an array of fine Italian fare and Mediterranean delicacies. They’ve partnered with the Harris family to open the store inside Harris Farm on the ground floor of the large Westfield Bondi Junction.

Functioning in a similar manner to their Drummoyne venture, this opening marks the second partnership between both SMC and Harris Farm, propping an extensive ten-metre-long delicatessen inside the space as one of the major features. It’s from here where shoppers will be able to select produce that comes from a unique meat-room that boasts over 100 legs of prosciutto, Jamon, Serrano, Bellota and an endless selection of Salami and hand-made sausages. Of course, cheeses will feature heavily alongside the meats, with an entire cabinet dedicated the great Truffle Pecorino among other styles.

The space will also feature Spanish tapas every day from 11am through to the evening in a 90-seated dining spice, which is expected to be filled with Salt Meat’s Cheese most popular food offerings like wood-fired pizza by the slice, hand-made pastas, gourmet sandwiches, and fresh salads. Some pre-made grab-and-go snacks will also be available from The Tapas Bar, which is themed after the markets of Europe.

Nearby, SMC will host their patisserie spin-off: a kiosk standing at the front of Harris Farm offering quick coffees and sweet treats with seasonal flavours designed to reflect the fruit available at Harris Farm.

On the other side of this partnership, Harris Farm will also be stocking many of SMC’s signature retail products including fresh pastas, sauces, home-made jams, pizza bases, and ready-made meals.

“We’re very excited for this growing relationship with Harris Farm, we have so many things in common and often sit down with the Harris Brothers till late, brainstorming ideas about what we can do next”, say Salt Meats Cheese Directors Stefano De Blasi and Edoardo Perlo.
