Sydney’s BRAND NEW summer hot spot La Bottega Leichhardt is here

We visited Sydney’s new Italian café La Bottega to check out the vibe and the food. Tucked away down busy Norton Street, it has a friendly inviting feel. Colourful umbrellas give some cool shade to the outdoor tables, while the open glass doors make the indoor space feel part of the outdoors.

The menu has a range of all day breakfast items, coffee, juices and smoothies, as well as pastas, burgers and sandwiches for lunch. La Bottega is a pet friendly venue, so there is a special pup-a-licious menu including chicken and rice for your best friend.

The service is brisk and friendly without being overbearing. A bottle of sparkling water arrives without fuss. The recommended special of spaghetti with mussels was delicious, with a generous portion of mussels, garlic bread on the side and a hint of chilli in the sauce. A chilled Peroni beer was a satisfying accompaniment.

The glass fronted counter has a good selection of cakes and desserts, but today a cappuccino was all that was needed to round off the meal. Despite it being busy, there was no rush on the customer to finish the meal quickly. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
